Startup Street: From reselling branded clothes to a new electric 2-wheeler launch

In Startup Street’s ‘Checking In’, electric two-wheeler maker Ather Energy is all set to launch its new model Ather 450X in January. CNBC-TV18’s Mugdha Variyar checked in with Tarun Mehta, CEO of Ather Energy to find out more about their plans and what the company is doing to ensure that these upgrades do not kill the previous models, something that happened with Ather 340.

On 'Trendspotting', pre-owned fashion is seeing high demand from tier 2 & tier 3 markets according to Kiabza, a re-commerce website that allows users to buy and sell branded pre-owned fashion. In the ‘Hot Seat’, EbixCash, a fully owned subsidiary of Ebix has signed an agreement with global money transfer and payment services player, MoneyGram to expand its presence in India. The partnership is aimed at bringing inward remittance volumes of USD 3 billion annually to India. CNBC-TV18’s Priya Sheth caught up with Robin Raina, Chairman of Ebix and asked him the rationale of this agreement and plans to scale up.
