Startup Street: Generico raises Rs 10 crore, tracking cyber criminals and checking in with Narayana Murthy

Startup Street puts the spotlight on pharmacy retail chain Generico as the Mumbai-based company has raised Rs 10 crore in venture debt financing from Alteria Capital. Generico sells generic and branded medicines and currently operates 49 outlets across Mumbai. This transaction is part of a larger Series-A financing round, which was announced last year with venture capital firm Lightbox leading a $14 million equity capital infusion into the company. To discuss more the fundraising, CNBC-TV18 spoke to Generico's co-founder Siddharth Gadia.

Over three lakh cybersecurity incidents have been reported in India till October 2019 -- that is a 55 percent jump from the 2018 statistics. With growing cybersecurity incidents and concerns, the startup space has seen a burgeoning of cybersecurity companies who are working closely with government and enforcement agencies. In a recent incident, Innefu Labs helped Delhi Police locate 3,000 missing children within four days of deployment using its artificial intelligence and cybersecurity solutions.
